There are those people you meet that become your friends in an instant. It's almost like something magic happens and your lives connect with an invisible thread that will pull you together again and again no matter the distance, no matter the silence, no matter what...
And then there are those threads that magically appear, that seem to grow stronger in time, only to be torn during a bitter moment of anger or disappointment. Those should be easy to mend some say.. but as you try you seem to notice how they have worn out and knot after know they only keep on breaking.
But the saddest of all are those connections that never form. No matter how hard you try, no matter how many times you throw your threads them they never seem to bind. You spend hours and hours looking for that magical friendship that will never appear and wonder if maybe it's something you did, something you could do, something you haven't done... You find yourself caring about someone you don't really know. And one day you stop wondering whether you will be missed and start asking whether you will miss, even a little, whether all those hours or trying and pain were all in vain. That is the day you realize you don't know how to miss a stranger.
